Google to shut down business profile chat and profile call history!
Google will remove the chat facility and call history from the Google business profile on July 31, 2024.
Google mentioned that:
“We admit this may be challenging news, but we must make this decision”
Google's decision was communicated to businesses through email, accepting the possible challenges and focusing this decision on being a helpful business partner.
You need to know about key dates:

July 15
Customers cannot send new message conversations with their Google My Business profile. It will be notified that no new message conversation can be available.

July 31
The complete chat option in Google Business Profile will end so that you won't get any new messages and won't be able to see your call history in Google My Business Profile.
Effect on Businesses and Customers:
- Customers will be informed of the end date.
- Businesses can still interact through Google Search and Google Maps.
- Data about the business will be available through the link on the website. Photo and business description.
The decision of Google:
The ending is part of the attempt of Google to smooth its offering. To help with the change Google gives:
- Download the option of the chat history: Businesses can download the past chat history using Google Takeout.
- Different chat solutions: Businesses are motivated to send customers to other message platforms.
Background
Google My Business lets businesses handle their online availability across Google services. Despite eliminating the message features, Google continues to assist businesses and customers with engaging connectivity.
